The “ANZAC Incident”

Reveille Magazine has just published a special 1916 issue entitled “Easter 1916”.

An article written by Raymond Keogh about his granduncle Gerald Keogh appears in this edition which is titled:

The Forgotten 1916 Volunteer and the ‘ANZAC Incident’. The Story of Gerald Keogh, D Company 4th Battalion, Dublin Brigade Irish Volunteerspp. 70-73. Easter 1916. Reveille Magazine.

Those who are familiar with the history of the St. Stephen’s Green garrison are sure to spot a small error in the article. Gerald may have stayed with this contingent before moving on to the GPO at dawn on 25th April. However, the garrison had not yet taken over the College of Surgeons. Apologies!
